After he came to the U.S. he continued his internal practice with Wai-Lun Choi, Grand Master of the Liu He Ba Fa style. In the nineties his tenure as secretary of the Midwest Buddhist Council gave him the opportunity to practice meditation closely with monks from many traditions. At the same time he studied Zen Shiatsu with Wataru Ohashi Sensei and became a Certified Ohashiatsu Instructor. In acupuncture and Oriental medicine he studied with the renowned Daoist teacher Jeffrey Yuen. He learned auricular acupuncture under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Niemtzow, creator of the Battlefield Protocol who was instrumental in establishing acupuncture in the US Armed Forces. Lok-Kwan studied Master Tung's Miraculous Points with Dr. Young Wei-Chieh. He also completed training in hypnotherapy with Jeffrey Zeig at the Milton Erickson Foundation. From 2017 to 2019 he studied Neuro-Acupuncture with Jason and Linda Hao of the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute. He is a Level III Graduate of the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute.
